I have been a Helmut Lang fan ever since I decided to try on a few of their pieces one rainy Vancouver day a long, long time ago. I was walking through the Holt Renfrew's woman's wear department, making a beeline to my favorites: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Alice & Olivia, DVF, Elizabeth & James... (the list could go on forever) when out of the corner of my eye I spotted what at first looked like a very simple grey tank dress. Upon further inspection, I realized that this was no simple tank dress, but a very sexy, silky and exquisitely well cut piece of clothing that I had to try on. To get to the point, the dress was Helmut Lang, it was fabulous and it is still my absolute favorite article of clothing that I own.
I have come to admire Helmut Lang's subdued and uncomplicated colour palates, the sensuous and luxurious fabric choices and the very acceptable price point that leaves me with no trace of buyers remorse (ha! like that's ever happened). I just took a look at their Spring/Summer 2010 collection and I'm getting the credit card ready prepped and ready to go...
