Isn't She Lovely...

Now I'm not usually a fan of a bubble hemline, but Miss Portman looked absolutely splendid in this Lanvin dress at the Toronto International Film Festival while promoting her movie Love and Other Impossible Pursuits.

Zip Me Up Scotty...

I think it all began with my gorgeous Helmut Lang exposed back zipper dress with satin side panels...

But my fascination with all exposed zippers/ zipper detailed anything has fully turned into an unhealthy and expensive obsession.

Silence and Noise Side Zip Twig Jean, Urban Outfitters, $68

Deena & Ozzy Suede Zip Bootie, Urban Outfitters, $78

It got a little out of hand...

It all started with this adorable exposed zipper tiered skirt...

Forever 21, $29.80

Then I was enticed to search for the perfect adorable top to go with it, which turned into a whole afternoon of extremely unnecessary online shopping...

Love this tank, not with the skirt though...

Kimchi Blue Mesh Tank, Urban Outfitters, $42

I just couldn't say no to this gorgeous colour...

Yellow is Gold by Sunshine & Shadow Striped Tank Dress, Urban Outfitters, $68

Yes, another skirt...

Kimchi Blue Cascade Skirt, Urban Outfitters, $48

I will actually wear this with skirt #1, but definitely take a sharp pair of scissors to the neckline...

Zebra Sketch Tee, Forever 21, $19.90

I just know I will wear this ALL the time...

Definitely wear this with skirt #1...

Thank You InStyle UK...

The InStyle UK website has done something fabulous and it not only puts a smile on my face on this cold, rainy day, but it has reminded me to take a few more risks when it comes to dressing myself every morning like it did when SATC aired on t.v. They have brilliantly made a collection of Carrie Bradshaw's 50 Best Fashion Moments as a prelude to the new Sex and The City movie which has begun filming all over New York.

Vivienne Westwood dress, nude heels and an over sized feather clutch; perfection!

Vintage at it's finest!

I will admit, I have tried this flower pin on shoulder look... (minus the Gucci bag).

Parisian styling; a bold and beautiful dress, over sized brooch, stilettos,
espresso and a cigarette!

My favorite! Just so lovely in every way.

A Leather Lover...

If my apartment was on fire and I only had enough time to save one precious thing from my closet, it would be without a doubt, my bomber style leather jacket that I've had for longer than I'd like to admit. I purchased it in Florence at an outdoor Italian leather market. Imagine rows and rows of splendidly soft, gloriously well crafted Italian leather jackets at incredibly low bargained prices... I was in heaven.
Living in Vancouver, I've gotten so much use out of this jacket over the years, where it's mild enough in the winter and cool enough in the summer to wear all year long. I will admit though, with holes in the lining, a faded, distressed shell and an odd wet dog smell to it, it may have seen it's last day. As hard as it will be, I may need tuck my leather lover away and find an even more fabulous replacement to use and abuse for the next decade.

Too picky for my own good...

I'm on the prowl for a perfect new fall bag, but I'm a tad picky when it comes to buying one because knowing me, I will use the poor little guy every single day for the next two seasons till it's screaming for a day off...
My crazy Virgo perfectionist requirements are as follows:

~ must be a gorgeous colour (with preferences to deep blues and shades of purple)
~ must be the perfect size and able to hold a gigantic can of hairspray, a notebook, an overstuffed wallet (overstuffed with receipts, not cash...), 5 different lip glosses, a hairbrush, 2-5 fashion magazines (depending on the time of year), a jumbo bag of peanut butter m&m's (everyday of the year), a tin of foosh energy mints/ can of red bull, a bottle of Ralph Lauren Romance perfume, a wine bottle opener ( you never know...) and probably a million other random things that I never will use, but have to have 'just in case'.
~ BUT it must not look like I'm lugging around a gigantic overnighter.
~ must be leather (I tend to manhandle my bags...)
~ must have an over- the -shoulder strap and if all possible, a cross-body strap for hands free shopping.
~ must have gold hardware instead of silver.

Now I understand that my chances of finding my dream bag that follow these very detailed and slightly crazy requirements is somewhat impossible, but I do have a few leads...

Rebecca Minkoff, Zip Morning After Bag, $550

See By Chloe, Backstage Large Tote, $710

Jack Rabbit Collection, Buff Easy Rider Hobo, $598

ASOS Leather Slouch Bag, $137

Most Popular, Class of 09'

Now I don't like to play favorites, especially when it comes to fashion, but I'm feeling a bit rebellious and breaking my own rule to confirm that yes, I do have a favorite Fall 09 Collection and that highly coveted gold star award goes to Jill Stuart.

The line is extremely wearable but with a bit of an edge, flirty yet undeniably sexy and most importantly, surprisingly affordable.

The Fall 09 Collection is almost entirely done in shades of grey, off-whites and black but is unquestionably feminine, filled with beautiful lace details, velvet trims, over sized ruffles, full tutu-like skirts and dresses and perfectly placed sequins.

Celebrities have been popping up everywhere donning the label and I have a feeling I'm not the only one who has fallen for the fabulousness of Jill Stuart.
