Lovely find of the day...

I'm going to dream about these super wide leg trousers from Zara tonight...

And then convince myself I need to have them tomorrow morning.

Tall schmall...

90% of the time I'm forced to wear high heels because of my disgustingly low proximity to the ground (I'm 5' 1" on a good day) but every now and then I like to switch it up and throw on a cute pair of flats, comfy flip flops or in this case, a pair of flat motorcycle boots...

And even though I'm reminded of how short I really am when I wear these, they have a toughness to them that make me feel a little feistier than normal!

(I dare someone to call me shorty!!)

You can never have enough luck...

A few years ago my sister gave me a sterling silver wishbone necklace that I never take off. It is one of, if not my favorite piece of jewelry for it's simplicity and charm and I swear I get more compliments on it then any other piece in my wardrobe. I've recently been on the prowl for another wishbone necklace or bracelet to compliment the silver one that I wear so often...

Lovely find of the day...

I stumbled upon this great blog called Oh Lovely Day that centers around great ideas and DIY projects for 'the big day' as well as all things lovely for every day home inspiration. I absolutely love the idea of using old antique and vintage tea tins as vases for some gorgeous spring flowers...

Or spray painting old mason jars and using them as vases...

And I will definitely be recommending this cute little idea to the next bride -to -be (cause we all know it's not gonna be me!)...

A Jenga set used as a guest book!

Day off magic...

You know when you wake up on your day off expecting rainy weather because that's what was forecasted for the day and then you pull back the curtains and see nothing but glorious sun? Nope? I'm in the same boat people! I honestly don't remember the last time I was blessed with unexpected sunshine on a day off until recently when it happened to me on Tuesday and boy did I take serious advantage of it...

First up, a day off outfit built around comfort, ease and the fact that I'd probably be eating a lot...

Excuse the iPhone photo, I didn't really feel like pulling out the SLR on my day off...

Striped shirt, Zara/army green top, Gap/ jeans, American Eagle Outfitters/

A little walk over the Granville street bridge from my south Granville apartment. I do the walk almost every day and I will never get sick of this view...

Then a leisurely lunch at my favourite downtown cafe (The Art Gallery Cafe) that was my own little secret (up until now) that included the California panini (chicken pesto amazingness), a glass of Sauv Blanc and dark chocolate mousse...

Then the discovery of this great sale happening at True Value Vintage on Robson right before the move to it's new Main street location...

And then I got even more excited when I found out about this Surrealist art exhibit at the art gallery starting May 28th and on till September 25th... A little Salvador Dali anyone????

On my way back home, I stopped into this community park and found the best spot to read some of my book...

I could have stayed in this little wicker chair all day...

But I opted to find a quick, delicious dinner instead and headed over to The Noodle Box on 4th ave where I get the same thing every time I go; The black bean and garlic box with a medium/ hot spiciness...

I sat down by Kits beach, pigged out on my delightful noodles and watched the sunset...

I refuse to sound like a fashion rookie...

Found this great little article on Fashion magazine's website on how to pronounce the trickiest of brand names and I will admit, I did learn a thing or two...

If you need a quick fashion pronunciation lesson, click here.

And yes, I always thought it was 'shoe-ler'...

Embarrassing moment number 2095 averted!

Love this little gem...

Especially in this fabulous lime green color that reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream...

~here is where I admit that food gives me just as much pleasure as fashion~

I hope you understand...

What happens when...

I put on all of my current favorite pieces in my wardrobe at the same time?

Well what I thought would be a disastrous mess turned out alright!

I assumed a baggy top, a baggy cardigan and a baggy pair of pants would make me look extremely frumpy and messy but the lightness of each piece doesn't weigh me down and somehow works.

Cardigan and pants, Anthropologie/Top, H&M/ shoes, Urban Outfitters

I love the mustardy color of the cardigan and the detail of the top.

And yes, that's real sunshine coming through the window!

Day off discovery...

While perusing Robson street yesterday for the perfect dress to wear to a wedding for this weekend (never found it...) I made a stop into Little Burgundy which used to be Stone Ridge and was very pleasantly surprised to find some amazing new brands being offered. They had some fabulous Dolce Vita sandals, the Jeffery Campbell Mary Roks that I love so much, some lovely House of Harlow wedges and a brand I had never heard of before, Hibou that I was kind of drooling over. Hibou is there house brand and is french for Owl (kinda random) and is just up my alley with tons of exposed zippers (yup still taking about shoes), sky-high wedges and a wearability that my budget minded self loves.

Fender, $150

Brozeski, $100

Of course I did...

Just as I promised, I HAD to buy these h&m elastic straped sandals in the other color they had them in... Why? Why not????? They're an amazing $15 and they are as comfy as your oldest, most worn in pair of butt ugly pj's...

I can't escape the grey...

I've been dieing to wear this shawl, vest thingy that I accidentally stole from my lovely friend Jackie...

First of all, let me explain that I never actually stole it, I borrowed it and then I happened to move to back to Vancouver and somehow the vest thingy came with me...

It is the perfect cover-up for a nice sunny day
and adds a little excitement to what could be quite a dud of an outfit...

BUT, it was not a sunny day, it was rainy yet again and if I had worn the shawl thingy I would have frozen my arse off...

So if I wanted to leave my apartment and get a little fresh air after 60 hours of hibernation, I had to change into this old, vintage, baggy and extremely unflattering sweater that I absolutely adore...

I had to add my cobalt bag and a little sparkle to this otherwise dull outfit...

The worst has happened...

Well it actually is the best thing that could possibly happen, but an Anthropologie opened up in Vancouver. But not just anywhere in Vancouver, about 20 steps away from my apartment, which for most women sounds like an amazing occurrence, but for someone like myself who has a SERIOUS shopping addiction and physically can not say no to chunky jewelry and bohemian tops, this is a terrible, terrible thing. So I really tried to forget all about the opening date and pretend nothing exciting was happening in the near future until I realized that every time I go anywhere and I mean anywhere, the bank, the dry cleaners, the grocery store, the drug store, even to the bus stop, I am forced to walk by Anthropolgie. I may have to move.

So it's opening day today and where do I find myself, waiting outside for the store to open! And yes, I did find a million things I wanted and yes the store looked gorgeous and it made me want to re do my whole apartment with lovely ceramics and beautiful linens just as I predicted but the horrendous lineups for fitting rooms and the till almost made me nauseous and I left empty handed which for me is such a huge accomplishment I almost wanted to draw myself up an award. I will brag about this until tomorrow morning when I will be tempted and tortured yet again as I go get my morning coffee and there will be nothing to brag about, just a few shopping bags instead of gold star awards.

Ugly line up.

I'm seriously moving.
